Advanced level and Further Maths

The three main examination boards, Edexcel, AQA and OCR have modular courses for 'AS', 'A2' and Further Maths. Any Mathematics course must include the four CORE modules; a further two generally being chosen from Statistics, Mechanics or Decision Maths. The links below give details of all that is on offer; BUT BEWARE, it can be a bit of a minefield!! A Further Maths 'A' level is made up of another six modules of more difficult stuff!!

A Statistics 'A' level can also be done where all modules are statistics based. The options open to individual students in putting together a Maths 'A' level are many and varied. The courses on offer at any particular institution is generally governed by the size of the institution and the specialism within the Maths Department.
