Worked solutions ....... PLEASE NOTE...my scanner sometimes puts a page upside down, I wish I knew why. To overcome the problem you 'right click' on the page and use the 'rotate' tool in your PDF reader to turn the page up the right way and so avoid the need to do handstands! Alternatively print off the whole document.

AND.....Many thanks to one of my students, Ayat. She pointed out an error I had made in C2 Jan 2009, qu 10(iii). I have corrected the solutions now and hold this as an example to all budding mathematicians....working together can be a great help to all concerned.
